This young woman was involved in a motor vehicle accident and had multiple small scars across her forehead. She underwent aggressive dermabrasion in the operating room and was very pleased with the result.
These images are from a young woman I injected with 1 cc of Restylane™ recently. She wanted a slightly fuller upper lip. Lip fullness can be readily adjusted by the addition of more Restlyane. She will have improvement for about 6 months with this treatment.
These are 1 month postop images of a typical male facelift incision that I did recently. Note that the incisions are still somewhat pink, but otherwise are barely noticeable. This is a so-called “pre-tragal” incision due to the fact that it runs just in front of the little nub in front of the ear canal (the tragus). There are several different arguments as to the “best” placement of this incision, but in general, one does not want to deform the tragus or pull beard hair up onto the tragus. Having said that, displaced beard hair is fairly easy to treat nowadays using one of many light based devices for hair removal.
This lady did not like the bags under her eyes. She had relatively little excess skin of the lower eyelids so she underwent a transconjuctival lower lid blepharoplasty with a modest amount of fat removal. The advantage of this incision is that it is on the inside of the eyelid and not visible. It also does not disrupt the tissue that holds the eyelid in place so it does not tend to change the position of the lower eyelid as much as techniques that go through the skin of the eyelid. If excess skin is present, it can be removed with another technique or tightened with a chemical peel or laser resurfacing.
This young lady felt that her eyebrows had dropped to the point that it made her look older. She underwent an endoscopic browlift through very small incisions hidden in her hair in combination with an upper lid blepharoplasty to remove excess skin from the upper eyelids. She noted after the surgery that her eyes appeared larger and more open as well as feeling better than they had in years. Many patients interested in upper eyelid surgery will benefit from a browlift as well. I use several different techniques for browlifting depending on the patient's anatomy. Make sure your surgeon is comfortable with different approaches as one size does not fit all.
