Fillers
FILLERS (for fuller lips, improving deep creases etc)
We use many types of fillers, but the most popular currently are in the Restylane™ family of products from Medicis. These fillers are made of a substance that is found naturally in the body - hyaluronic acid. They are injected into the area to be filled using a small needle. Anesthetic creams and numbing injections are used to ease the discomfort of the injection. Most fillers are temporary. Restylane generally lasts about 5-6 months and can be redone as needed.
For larger areas, fat grafting may be suggested. This requires harvesting the fat with liposuction from another area and injecting it into the part of the face to be filled. This technique is carried out in an operating room. Dr Jordan will discuss which filler may be the best option for you.
