Many people have unwanted facial or body hair. Current technology has advanced to the point that many types of hair may be treated successfully, but dark hair on light skin is still the easiest to treat. Light, thin hair does not respond well.
While the devices used in our clinic are much more effective than those available previously, all types of hair will require multiple treatments to achieve a long lasting effect. Even then, some regrowth or new hair growth may require retreatment over the long term.
At The Face & Skin Center, we use several devices for hair removal, but the most effective is the Soprano® XL 810 Diode laser that features “fast” hair removal mode and is relatively painless compared to many of the older units. We also use the Syneron® IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) for hair removal in some situations. At consultation we will discuss the risks and benefits of laser hair removal in your particular case given your skin, hair type and any other individual circumstances.
