New name, new services, new location:
For some time now, The Face Center has been helping customers look their very best by offering the most scientifically advanced facial skin rejuvenation technology, skincare products, and surgical procedures available. Recently, these services have been expanded to include total skin care with the addition of a board-certified dermatologist to our staff. Now known as The Face & Skin Center of University Physicians, the center offers complete skin care, dermatology services, and facial plastic surgery. The goal of the staff at The Face & Skin Center is to exceed the expectations of customers with their expertise, personalized service, and exceptional value. This expert team includes Dr. Randy Jordan, facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Nancye McCowan, dermatologist, Christy Childress, RN, and our newest member, Denise Gipson, nurse practitioner. To better serve our customers, The Face & Skin Center will beopening a new office in the spring of 2008 at The Township of Colony Park, 201 North Lake Avenue in Ridgeland. J. Randall Jordan, MD, FACS
Because of Dr. Jordan's interest in surgery of the head and neck region, he has chosen to limit his plastic surgery practice to this area. Dr. Jordan is a native of Pensacola, Florida and received his medical training at the University of Florida where he completed a five year residency in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery. He then underwent an additional year of fellowship training with Dr. E. Gaylon McCollough at the internationally respected McCollough Plastic Surgery Clinic in Birmingham, Alabama. He then entered practice in Tallahassee, Florida until 2002, when he joined the faculty of the University of Mississippi Medical Center as an Associate Professor, where he is actively involved in resident training and research in addition to his clinical practice.
Nancye K. McCowan, MD, FAAD
Dr. McCowan received her MD at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where she also completed her residency training. Her diverse background includes military, academic medical center, and private practice experience. She began her career in the U.S. Air Force as chief of dermatology at the Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, where she was selected as the Air Combat Command Surgeon General for Dermatology. After serving with the Air Force for several years, she practiced in the private sector in Omaha for four years. She most recently served as assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Dr. McCowan joined the Medical Center in September, 2007 as an Associate Professor, and
Director of the Division of Dermatology.
